A Future Well-Rooted
Rudolf Steiner
The third years of the four-year biodynamic training course (Freie Ausbildung) welcome you to this year's conference, taking place at the Waldorf school in Hannover-Maschsee!
With the theme 'A Future Well-Rooted' we are looking to delve into the question of how we can build the future given the concrete past (ie the 'roots'). We are inspired by Goethe, who said that one needs to overlook the past three millennia to be able to see what is to come in the future, how things will evolve and what actions are needed to be taken now. Shall we remain slaves of the past - or shall we become masters of our future? The current cultivators of land also have to face this question - but how exactly does modern cultivation take into account the foregoing viewpoints? These are the questions we want to address. To do so, we have invited four speakers who will talk to us on the subject and 17 teachers from varying fields to facilitate further deepening in the individual work groups.
This year we are boldly venturing out to take on a larger project and for the first time opening the November Conference for all those interested throughout all European countries. Therefore some courses will be taught in English and evening lectures will be translated. Our aim is that people beyond the boarders of Germany have the chance to meet and exchange. The internationality of the event will bring with it a new diversity of perspectives.
Next to the sustantive content work during courses and lectures, the creative and joyus aspects should not be forgotten. Every day there will be an opportunity to sing together, on the last evening a dance party will take place, and on Sunday during the closing event we will end with presentations from the courses (eurythmy, folk dance, etc.).
A gardening teacher from the Waldorf School in Hanover, where our conference takes place, together with his students has dedicated a large portion of the garden to vegetables grown specially for our meals during the conference. We also have our own baking team comprised of trainees that will be baking the entire bread demand for the event under the lead of a baker.
We look forward to your participation and hope for a productive and collaborative event, as well as inspiration in getting to know like-minded people and exchange at the Night Café.
